How does it work?
This flash has two modes of operation: (1) As an automatic flash with PC-cable or hotshoe 6V contact pin (without TTL). (2) As a slave flash with professional features such as burst and light duration. The flash includes a sensor that will trigger the flash when senses light variations. It will also be able to detect legth of the camera's built in flash and double flashing.
It is not necessary to attach it to your camera's hot shoe, it can even be placed closer to the subject for fill-in purposes (wireless).
Bracket is included!
On both modes, the flash features: Bounce (for fill and anti-redeye), manual Zoom (to illuminate close or far subjects correctly), swivel (for filling and light composition), and burst (instant re-charge). |
Photography Tip
Poor location of the flash is probably the number-one cause of poor flash pictures, and it is harder to find a worse location than near the lens. Light reflecting directly off a subject can cause “hot spots” - flash glare from shiny or even-partially reflective surfaces, such as human skin. Besides the automatic mode, our flash has the ability to work wirelessly in sync with your camera's master flash. Allowing this flash to be placed at a different angle than the lens (more from the side rather than straight-on), features are “modeled” better, with the off-axis lighting enhancing details and texture, and giving a degree of shading to three-dimensional subjects. Hot spots are reduced or eliminated altogether. Off-camera flash can be extremely useful in situations requiring the use of fill flash. If the photographer wishes to aim at objects on a white surface or small box, we recommend the use of more than one wireless triggered flash like ours so light comes from different directions cancelling each other's shadow. This is specially useful for small objects such as jewelry, table tops, etc... |
